Sneak Peek at My Alumni Profile as an AAMS Minor in Undergrad

Showing my WU Pride!

Last month, I received an email asking me if I would be willing to discuss why I minored in African American Studies (AAMS) during my undergraduate career.  I jumped at the opportunity because (1) one of my favorite professors recommended me for this, and (2) I’m absolutely PROUD to have been an AAMS Minor.  So, I sent my mini “interview,” and the contact from the Dept. of Interdisciplinary Studies was very pleased with my responses, and my professional aspirations.

Today, I emailed the contact from that department to find out about the progress of creating the profile, and she sent me the below image.  When I saw the layout & read the excerpts, I was filled with extreme proud to have made such a small contribution to the AAMS Minor program, as well as to my alma mater.  Whatever I’m able to do to promote the image of my alma mater, I will do.  I love being a Winthrop University eagle and I wouldn’t have wanted to go to any other school in the state besides WU.
